The Second Amendment and Amnesty

Justices affirm gun rights – Los Angeles Times

The Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that the Second Amendment is, indeed, constitutional. For some of us that was an obvious no-brainer. But grasping the obvious has always been hard for liberals, especially when it goes contrary to their agenda.

So, while constitutionalists around the country do the Happy Dance, I’m stuck pondering this question, “Does this mean that when the Democrats grant amnesty to the millions of illegal aliens in this country, those aliens-turned-citizens will have the right to bear arms?”  The answer is, “Yes. If we uphold our Constitution, it does.” So, while the Court’s decision is good news constitutionally, it does serve as a sobering reminder of what we face if Obama’s “Get Out the Vote” campaign called Amnesty is successful.

For all practical purposes, nothing has changed. The court only upheld what we all (sans liberals) already knew-Americans have the right to keep and bear arms. But, once amnesty is passed (deemed, shoved through, imposed in the dark of night) the rights that legitimate Americans have fought for and died to protect will be awarded to illegal aliens who, from the looks of it, really just want the freebies.

Aside from being here illegally (and, really, isn’t that reason enough?),  I have a couple other areas of concern.

For starters, there are those among the illegal alien crowd in this country who have no problem flaunting their illegal-but-entitled status. From protest marches and burning the American flag to mailing bricks to congressmen and defacing public property, this crowd has invaded our country with one hand out and the other hand brandishing the driving finger. This isn’t exactly how industrious, grateful people conduct themselves. In fact, it is tantamount to breaking into my basement window and then protesting about not having any clean towels. So, while the Supreme Court’s ruling is good news for American citizens, the thought of these disgruntled illegal-potentially legal aliens having the “right” to keep and bear arms makes my blood run cold.

And, for grins, let’s not forget that there are more than a few illegal aliens who are members of the Mexican drug cartel. The Second Amendment will apply to them as well. Nothing says constitutional like a Mexican drug lord having the right to bear arms.

I’m not saying the Second Amendment’s slim victory Thursday was a bad thing. I am saying, however, that the Second Amendment is for legitimate American citizens only.

Ignorance and the Party Line: A Liberal Conundrum

It started with this:

If this woman hasn’t been given a few cardboard boxes in which to place her belongings, then the Dems are behind schedule on this intervention. The modus operandi for the Party when one of their own, especially a rookie lemming, looks overtly ignorant is to distance themselves. Once this is passive-aggressive avoidance technique is accomplished, the unwitting (that’s “witless”) offender gets the sudden urge to change vocations.

Obama: The Cyber-Messiah

Obama ‘Internet kill switch’ plan approved by US Senate panel – Techworld.com

In a nutshell, this bill will grant Obama the power to “take emergency action” in the event of a cyber-emergency. A cyber-emergency? Seriously?

OK, I know we’ve had some pretty serious security breaches in the past, and there are those rogue countries who would like nothing better than to hack into Rush Limbaugh’s email or the codes to some missile silo, but let’s be honest, serious as the cyber security threat is, it isn’t the real reason for this new Democrat power-grab. This is just another crisis that, in the words of Rahm Emanuel, shouldn’t go to “waste”. Crises that really exist get short shift with this regime. But a crisis they can reinvent and use to their advantage? Well, that’s cause for celebration and preemptive, liberty-stripping legislation.

When Democrats start talking about protecting us from emergencies, that is really code for, “Grab your ankles”. What most American’s consider an emergency, like…say…airplanes being flown into buildings killing thousands of innocent Americans; illegal aliens slithering across our borders at break-neck speed; or oil spewing into the gulf for two months and counting, are, in fact, not emergencies to the Obama Administration. They are merely opportunities for political advancement and an avenue by which to further strip us of our individual liberty.

Emergencies that require immediate intervention from our ass-kicking (his words, not mine) president and his jack-booted Democrats are things like the use of the incandescent light bulb; the concept of actually working for a living; and, most dangerous of all, the ability to stay informed. Which brings us to the impending “cyber-emergency, because that is what this is really about. Cloaked under the guise of protecting our cyber space from enemy hackers is the slimy underbelly of this bill – the shredding of the First Amendment.

Make no mistake, this has nothing to do with protecting this country’s cyber interests and everything to do with making sure the Democrats can operate with zero scrutiny or impunity.
