Well, this didn’t take long. Thirty minutes into his presidency, Obama started backpedaling on his promises. That’s gotta be a record.
From his speech last night:
“I was never the likeliest candidate for this office. We didn’t start with much money or many endorsements.”
That is, until he started accepting untraceable, illegal donations.
“The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term…”
I have prayed that Obama would tip his hand early; and my prayers have been answered. Gone are the pie-in-the-sky promises. You can bet he’s banking his followers won’t notice the one-eighty he’s pulling. Its probably a safe bet considering he campaigned as a socialist and they never noticed it.
“…but America – I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you – we as a people will get there…There will be setbacks and false starts.”
You mean the Messiah will have set backs? Probably should have told your minions that one sooner.
“There are many who won’t agree with every decision or policy I make as President, and we know that government can’t solve every problem. “
Now wait just a minute. That is definitely not what he’s been preaching these last several months. Don’t tell me that Obama deceptively led millions of mindless sheeple to pull the lever for him with the promise that his united government would fill gas tanks, pay mortgages, and provide health care only to turn around say he can’t deliver.
Who saw that one coming?
The guy should have run disclaimers along the bottom of his ads saying, “The content of this message may not be valid in your lifetime.”
“But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. “
Which brings us to the Fairness Doctrine. Oh, and those reporters whose papers endorsed McCain, you know, the ones who lost their seats on his plane.
“And above all, I will ask you join in the work of remaking this nation…”
God bless the U.S.S.A.
